WORLD OVARIAN CANCER DAY
World Ovarian Cancer Day, an initiative of the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition, is held on May 8. It’s a day when organisations around the world unite to shine a light on ovarian cancer. In 2024, the theme is “No Woman Left Behind”.
World Ovarian Cancer Day allows us to draw attention to ovarian cancer and raise awareness of symptoms, particularly in younger women who are at increased risk of delayed diagnosis.
Every day, a Kiwi woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and every 34 hours, we lose another woman. Globally, over 200,000 women around the world will lose their lives to ovarian cancer this year.
In past years, we have had prominent billboard space donated to us, with billboards around New Zealand, as well as in Times Square, New York and Piccadilly Circus, London to help us share our important message.
Check back in April to learn about this year’s campaign.
