TimeOut Holiday Eligability Criteria
Holiday home accommodation
TimeOut is a New Zealand charity that finds holiday home-owners willing to donate a stay in their home to people with life-limiting diseases. This gives families and friends a chance to connect and create lasting memories.
Eligibility for a TimeOut holiday
If you are unsure if you meet the criteria around having a life-limiting disease, please ask your oncologist or gynae-oncologist.
To ensure you meet the criteria for a holiday homestay, TimeOut will accept a medical letter that includes the type of ovarian cancer you have, confirming it is stage 4 or recurrence or progression – except Germ Cell (which requires a letter stating it is life-limiting) and anyone with borderline tumours (without co-existent cancer).
If you meet the criteria but do not have a letter with the above information, you can ask your oncologist or gynae-oncologist to write one specifically for this purpose. It must specify that the cancer is life-limiting.
Once the application is assessed and accepted, TimeOut will be in touch to discuss accommodation options. TimeOut only accepts bookings up to six weeks before your intended holiday date (they do not accept bookings during public holidays or in January). You can reapply once every 12 months.
Please indicate that you heard about the service from the Ovarian Cancer Foundation when you make your application.
