Cure Our Ovarian Cancer founder Jane Ludemann was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer in 2017 and was told she would likely live another five to 15 years.
She’s spearheading a petition to Parliament asking for the development of ovarian cancer education campaigns for the public and health professionals, and she is hopeful that with enough research a cure can be found in her lifetime.
OCFNZ started as Cure Our Ovarian Cancer in 2018, with a focus on low-grade serous ovarian cancer. In 2020, we expanded our focus to include all ovarian cancer and, in 2024, we changed our name to the Ovarian Cancer Foundation New Zealand.
