The Ovarian Cancer Foundation New Zealand (OCFNZ) is proud to launch our first overseas travel grant – of up to $10,000 – to allow an early career researcher to gain experience in an international ovarian cancer research laboratory.
OCFNZ will fund a candidate to visit one of four ovarian cancer research laboratories, preselected by OCFNZ, for two to four weeks.
The grant aims to develop and enhance the skills and networks of New Zealand researchers in ovarian cancer by utilising OCFNZ’s connections with top international researchers in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US.
The final grant value will depend on the location, and it will cover travel and
accommodation expenses, up to $10,000.
Applications will be evaluated anonymously by a panel of expert researchers.
The successful candidate will be placed by OCFNZ with a preselected research laboratory that best matches their research interest. In the event multiple laboratories are suitable, the candidate will be able to select the placement of their choice from the options available.
The placement will take place over a two to four-week period, within 12 months of acceptance, at a time mutually suitable to the candidate and the overseas research laboratory.
